Kapiti's Music Festival, with a Marathon of music returns for the twelfth time on the 6th, 7th, & 8th and 13th, 14th, & 15th of May 2016.

The New Zealand Music Month celebration will be held over six days at multiple venues in Kapiti during the first two full weekends of May.

“There are many really interesting musical acts that only have a small set of music. Festivals such as this enable these artists to perform their music to a live audience”. “It also enables musicians to mingle and create future paid work with the venues” said event manager Reuben Price

The event started in 2004 as the ‘Kapiti Music Marathon’. The marathon didn’t run in 2011 so event organisers Reuben Price and Chris Craddock took over the project in 2012 turning it into a multi-day, multi-venue festival. This will be the fifth year running as a festival and the twelfth year the event has been run.
